Ace of Dogs

Dog agility, scentwork and Rally classes in and around Little Kingshill, between Amersham and High Wycombe

What to expect from Rally at Ace of Dogs

Rally is a relatively new dog activity which started in America and has recently been embraced by the Kennel Club in the UKA handler and dog team follow a numbered course of obedience based exercises which are performed at their own pace. Levels 1 and 2 are done on the lead, from Level 3, exercises are done off lead. A course consists of up to 15 exercises and you can talk to your dog between exercise stations. It can really build a bond between you and your dog. As you progress up the levels there will be more challenging and fun exercises, including ones for the dog to go over jumps and also walk past bowls of tasty treats!                                Rally classes at Ace of Dogs

Ace of Dogs is pleased to be able to offer Rally classes for both Beginners and those with some experience of Rally.  Our classes are fun and use only reward based training methods.  Our trainer has successfully completed an instructor's course, is an approved KC Rally judge, regularly attends Rally workshops to keep up-to-date with the latest techniques and developments in the sport and competes up to Level 5.

We currently offer the following levels of classes and hope to increase the number of classes we offer during 2016:

Advanced:  suitable for dogs and handlers who have experience of all the Level 1 and 2 signs and some experience of the signs from higher levels.  The dogs in this class are either competing or ready to compete and some have won into levels 2 or 3.

Improvers:  suitable for dogs and handlers who have experience of all the Level 1 signs (dogs with previous Rally or obedience experience may be accepted if they have not done all these signs but are of a standard that they could learn them quickly).

Beginners: no previous experience necessary although dogs should have the ability to work for their handlers among other dogs.  Open to dogs from about 6 months old.  Most of the exercises are carried out on lead.

We currently offer classes in Great Kingshill (indoor sand school),  Little Kingshill (outdoors on grass or all-weather menage) and Hazlemere (indoor village hall).
